I hope you give Layin’ Low a chance one of these days, because I think it’s a totally underrated everyday workhorse. I’ll just do quick, little sweeping motions and make tight circles to buff the layers down as thin as humanly possible, which is something I learned from a MAC makeup artist, and it changed my worldview on the MAC Paint Pots, LOL! Before that I’d always press them into my skin with my fingers, and they’d look heavy and dry on my lids. If you’re one of those gals or guys for whom the MAC Paint Pots look thick and heavy on your lids, try applying a very thin layer of Layin’ Low with a domed eyeshadow brush like the MAC 217. ![]() ![]() A swatch of MAC Layin’ Low on my NC42 skin I’ll buff it on my lids from lash line to brow bone with a MAC 217, then sweep Soft Brown into the crease, then Saddle or Texture slightly lower into the crease, Swiss Chocolate on my lids and a black liner (usually Smolder) on my lash and water lines. It’s also a superstar eyeshadow base for warm orangey brown or reddish brown smoky eyes. It lasts all day and doesn’t even need primer! MAC Layin’ Low as a base (you can see it on my lids and brow bones), with MAC Soft Brown, Saddle and Swiss Chocolate in the crease and MAC Smolder Eye Kohl on my lash lines For fast looks, I’ll wear it as a standalone shadow, just popping it right on my lids, diffusing it into the crease and smudging Costa Riche on my lash and water lines before adding mascara and a bold plum, wine or berry lip. I’m a MAC NC42, and Layin’ Low is in my category of everyday staples. Overall a fantastic and a must have paint pot in my opinion! MAC Layin' Low Paint Pot is available across all MAC counters and retails for 1450/- for 5g.A quick daytime look with Layin’ Low on my lids and MAC Costa Riche Eye Kohl on my lash lines the lipstick is bareMinerals Lead the Way Once it dries it does not budge at all! Works fantastic as a base for neutral eye looks and keeps the eyeshadows from creasing making them last whole day! The only thing would be if you have very dry eyelids an eye cream is a must before using this one as it settles to a matte finish! The texture is creamy and completely matte! It applies smoothly on eyelids however it does tend to dry pretty fast so one has to work pretty quick in terms of blending the shade. To me its definitely more peachy beige rather than only beige! Its much warmer than soft ochre which is yellow and painterly which is more pink! Layin' low is flesh toned beige shade with peach undertones, which makes it the most perfect shade for Indian or tan skin tones! Due to its peach undertones and awesome pigmentation it does cover any hyper pigmentation or darkness on the eye lids quite effectively. MAC describes Layin' Low as "creamy beige". I always store these upside down as its much easier to find the shades this way and I have heard it helps to keep them from drying as well. The packaging of pro long wear paint pots are same as their regular paint pots line, they come in a ting glass jar which I quite like and don't find them way too bulky. One of them which I was most excited about was Layin' Low which is a relaunch and was initially launched in 2010 with their Fafi collection! So when MAC launched their Pro Longwear Paint Pots I was super excited to get my hands on few of them. MAC paint pots need no introduction, they one of the best selling products from MAC and quite worth the rave in my personal opinion.
